Eric Ambler: British Thriller Writer, Select Bibliography and Price Guide

Eric Ambler (1909-1998) was a British writer of spy thrillers. He brought a new reality to the genre and inspired a number of his contemporaries, including James Bond author Ian Fleming. He also wrote a few books in association with Charles Rhoda, using the pseudonym Eliot Reed.

Unless stated otherwise the price guide below is for UK first edition hardback books in VG condition with VG dust jackets. Some of the UK 1st editions were preceded by the American 1st editions - the latter will be included in a later price guide.

Prices below are for guidance only as there are many variables, hence further research is recommended. There has been quite a bit of positive price movement in recent years and it should be noted that signed copies usually sell at a premium, while there are significant price reductions for books lacking an original dust jacket.

If you need values in US dollars, Euros or a host of other major currencies, a currency converter is included in the right hand sidebar of this page, and another in the footer area.
