Select Price Guide for Pop-Up and Three Dimentional Books

The late Victorian and early Edwardian eras were considered the golden age of pop-up books. Demand subsided after the outbreak of the first world war and was subsequently reinvigorated in the 1930s - led largely by the American comic strip artists. This new found popularity saw many classic children's stories published, a trend which continues today.

There are an increasing number of pop-up books which deal with adult subjects but the main thrust remains in books for children. Also referred to as three dimensional, pop-ups frequently include mechanical elements such as tab pulls and rotating wheels.

The price guide below includes books recently offered by leading book dealers. It is merely a guide and further research is recommended as the price of books can be determined by many aspects including condition. Where pop-ups and mechanicals are concerned, the condition of the illustrations is every bit as important as the cover, dust jacket and text pages.

If you need values in US dollars, Euros or a host of other major currencies, a currency converter is included in the right hand sidebar of this page, and another in the footer area.
